The Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage opened in Allen, Texas on October 23 (October 24 in Japan) with eight Bo1 games. All four LCK teams (GEN, HLE, DK and T1) won, and all four LPL teams (AL, BLG, TES and IG) lost. Play-In winners Karmine Corp (KC) beat Anyone's Legend (AL) (LoL Esports, Leaguepedia).

Round 2 starts on October 24 at 12 PM CDT (October 25, 2:00 JST), and two of the 1-0 matches are all-LCK: GEN vs HLE and T1 vs DK. This article lays out every Round 1 game's winner, length, kills, gold, dragons, and each team's picks and K/D/A from official match data, plus the Round 2 matchups and what an AI made of the data.

Written at 17:30 JST on October 24 (3:30 AM CDT). Results and stats come from LoL Esports' official match data (the official schedule and live stats); the winner and every player's K/D/A in all eight games were checked against Leaguepedia's scoreboards and all of them matched. Game length is Leaguepedia's record. We will add each round's results until the Swiss Stage ends on October 31 (November 1 JST).

Round 1 was drawn Pool 1 vs Pool 4 and Pool 2 vs Pool 3, with no same-region matchups (LoL Esports Worlds 2026 Primer). Only GEN (Pool 1) and HLE (Pool 2) won from the higher pool: Pool 4's KC, DK and CFO beat Pool 1's AL, G2 and TLAW, and Pool 3's MKOI, T1 and LYON beat Pool 2's BLG, LOS and TSW.

Pools follow each region's seeding, not overall strength. In the official Global Power Rankings updated on October 5, Pool 3's T1 were 5th, while LOS, the Pool 2 team T1 beat, were 40th (LoL Esports).

Prompt
You are a League of Legends analyst. Below are the results of all eight Bo1 games of Worlds 2026 Swiss Round 1 (official data: end-of-game kills, gold lead, towers, dragons and barons, plus every player's champion and K/D/A), the record by region, and the Round 2 draw.
Answer briefly:
(1) What the Round 1 data says (regions, pools, how the games went)
(2) What this data can tell us about the four 1-0 vs 1-0 matches in Round 2
(3) What this data cannot tell us
Mark anything not in the data as speculation.
AI response

1. What the Round 1 data says

Regions: the LCK went 4-0 and the LPL 0-4. The LPL lost twice to the LCK (GEN and HLE) and twice to the LEC (MKOI and KC). Both regions had one team in each of Pools 1 to 4, and every LCK team won while every LPL team lost, whatever the pool. For this one round at least, results split by region more than by pool.

Pools: the higher pool won only two games, GEN (Pool 1) and HLE (Pool 2); the lower pool won the other six. But pools follow each region's seeding, so pool numbers are not a cross-region strength ranking. AL, for example, are the LPL's top seed in Pool 1 and lost to KC from Pool 4.

How the games went: four were lopsided and four were close. HLE (23:51, +15,650 gold), T1 (24:26, +13,815), GEN (26:01, +13,391) and LYON (26:49, +11,338) all won inside 27 minutes and held their opponents to between zero and two towers. In contrast, DK vs G2 was 8-8 in kills with a +3,364 gold lead, and DK won 8-3 on towers even though G2 had more dragons (3-2) and the only baron. In MKOI vs BLG (38:41), BLG's only dragon was the Elder, but MKOI won with two barons and an 11-3 tower count. In CFO vs TLAW (37:32, 12-11 in kills), CFO took five dragons including the Elder.

Individually, HLE's Zeka (17/1/5) took about 70% of HLE's 24 kills, and LYON's Berserker (13/1/5) about 60% of LYON's 22. T1's Doran, Oner and Faker did not die and the team died three times; KC's Caliste and Busio did not die and the team died four times. Among champions, Alistar was the support pick for five teams and went 3-2, while Lee Sin and K'Sante were picked four times each and went 1-3, but with one game per team that is not yet a trend.

2. The four 1-0 vs 1-0 matches in Round 2

  • GEN vs HLE (all-LCK): both won Round 1 by wide margins (GEN 9-2 in towers, HLE 9-0), so this data does not separate them. The difference is how the kills came: GEN's were spread out (Canyon and Chovy 8 each, Ruler 5), while 17 of HLE's 24 went to Zeka. Which of those helps more is speculation.

  • T1 vs DK (all-LCK): T1 beat LOS 19-3 in kills and 10-0 in towers, while DK edged G2 in an 8-8 game. But the opponents differ (LOS: CBLOL, Pool 2; G2: LEC, Pool 1), so the margins are not a direct measure of strength.

  • CFO vs MKOI: both won games of more than 37 minutes against higher-pool teams (TLAW and BLG). CFO won on dragons (five, including the Elder) and MKOI on barons (two) and towers (11-3); what they share is closing out long games through objectives.

  • LYON vs KC: LYON won fast (22-6 in kills, 26:49) with the kills concentrated on Berserker. KC won 12-4 in 33:16 and their five players died only four times in total. In the data these are two different kinds of wins, but which one prevails is speculation.

3. What this data cannot tell us

  • Each team has played one game, so form cannot be separated from matchup or draft luck.

  • These are end-of-game totals only, so we cannot tell whether games were won through early leads or late comebacks (for example, how DK won with even kills and no baron).

  • Pick order and bans are not included, so draft intent cannot be evaluated.

  • Opponent strength differs from game to game and the input has no cross-region strength measure, so margins across games cannot be used to rank teams. There is no head-to-head history for GEN vs HLE or T1 vs DK in the data either.

The AI response is based only on the input data; for facts, the reporting in the article takes precedence.
